British producer Jemima Goldsmith's much-awaited venture, What's Love Got To Do With It?, will hit the cinemas on January 27 next year, Studio Canal announced on Twitter.

The cross-cultural rom-com stars Lily James, Shazad Latif, Emma Thompson, Shabana Azmi, Aly, Mim Shaikh and Asim Chaudhry and has been written by Khan. The film has been directed by Indian filmmaker Shekhar Kapur.

The first look for Goldsmith’s What’s Love Got To Do With it? was unveiled in December last year. Studiocanal and Working Title unveiled the picture from the highly-anticipated Britishf film. The image from the film features Cinderella star alongside Latif of Star Trek: Discovery fame. The latter can be seen clad in a traditional kurta and saffron dupatta around his neck, with James sporting a leather jacket.

The post by the studio read, “How do you find lasting love in today’s world?” with the film following Zoe’s (James) journey making a documentary on her friend Kazim’s (Latif) arranged marriage journey. The film is also set to star Khel Khel Mein starlet Sajal Aly, alongside Bollywood veteran Shabana Azmi, Emma Thompson, Asim Chaudhry, Mim Shaikh and Jeff Mirza.

Earlier, it was reported that the film also features a soundtrack by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, who has recorded two songs for the film and will also make an appearance in it. Last year, Aly and Goldsmith took to social media and shared glimpses from their upcoming project. Alongside the Yakeen Ka Safar actor, the former wife of PM Imran Khan can be seen with the veteran Indian actor, Azmi, as well as she posts the story with the latter on her Instagram.

In 2020, it was announced that the journalist would be writing and producing her first film - a romantic-comedy - What's Love Got To Do With It? under the banner of her company Instinct Production. The film is set in London and Lahore. According to the Daily Mail, Goldsmith was inspired by her marriage to the premier and the film seems to be her take on it.
