Youth injured in DHA robbery bid ‘stable’

A case has been registered against an unknown accused for attempting a robbery in which a youth was shot and injured in Defence Housing Authority (DHA).

On Saturday night, robbers on motorcycles near Karachi Haleem on Khyaban-e-Nishat, Phase 6 DHA in the jurisdiction of Darakhshan Police Station, took out arms to rob young people standing in the street. Meanwhile, a youth named Sufyan Niazi started moving toward the accused, holding a weapon.

The armed suspect opened fire, after which the youth was injured and fell to the ground while the armed accused snatched valuable mobile phones from the friends of the wounded and managed to escape on a motorcycle.

The injured boy was rushed to a private hospital in Clifton, where his condition was described as critical.

Darakhshan Police has registered a case of shooting and injuring a youth under the provisions of 2022/330 attempted murder and robbery against two unidentified accused on the complaint of the injured youth's brother Shehzad Niazi.

Senior police officials said that the condition of the injured youth Sufyan is now out of danger, and police are trying to arrest the culprits involved in the incident. Still, the police have not had any success so far.
