Health experts have warned and advised the public to take extra preventive measures as the cases of diarrhoea are rising in the Rawalpindi district. District Health Authority Head Dr Faiza Kanwal has said diarrhoea is spread by drinking contaminated water and eating rotten fruits.
In addition, the health department has released an official report on cases reported in different cities of the district. According to the report, 228 patients suffered from diarrhea in Rawalpindi district which includes 52% of men and 48% of women this year so far.
In Rawalpindi, a total of 111 cases were reported. Around 42 cases have been reported in Cantt, 35 in Potohar, 10 in Gujar Khan, three in Taxila and 27 patients have been reported in other tehsils.
At least 134 cases have been reported at Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Hospital, 66 in Holy Family, 23 in DHQ, four in Fuji Foundation Hospital, and one patient was reported in THQ Taxila. 219 patients have been discharged from hospitals, and nine patients are under treatment in hospitals. As per District Health Office Rawalpindi sources, free treatment for diarrhoea patients has been made accessible. Every government hospital, tehsil headquarters hospital, and primary health center in the district have been provided with medicine.
