Children’s hospital pharmacy gutted

Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz sought a report from health secretary

A pharmacy located on the third floor of the children's hospital was gutted in a fire on Saturday. Seven Rescue 1122 fire tenders rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire. No casualties were reported, however according to preliminary reports, medicines worth Rs1 million were destroyed.

Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz sought a report from the health secretary, while Punjab Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique visited the hospital and reviewed the rescue operation. Talking to the media, Minister Salman said the patients and staff of the hospital were safe and an inquiry committee had been constituted to ascertain the cause of the fire.

Punjab Health Secretary Ali Jan Khan, said that a thorough investigation of the fire would be conducted.
