Minister calls for granting rewards to IT firms

ISLAMABAD:

Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Syed Aminul Haque has given directives for expediting the process of giving cash rewards to the information technology companies and setting a timeline in this regard.

The minister gave the directives while chairing board of directors meeting of the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) on Tuesday.

The meeting discussed matters related to IT exports and financial incentives for the IT and IT-enabled services’ exporters. The issues faced by IT companies and freelancers also came up for discussion.

Appreciating the skills programmes of the PSEB, the minister directed the export board management to increase the ratio of women in such programmes as the empowerment of women was an important goal of the IT ministry.
