According to reports, a scuffle broke out between two student organisations at JPMC on Thursday afternoon over hoisting a political party's flag. At first, there was heated argument, which led to an exchange of profanities, intensifying into fisticuffs.

In the brawl, a worker of an organisation was severely beaten. Afterwards, his comrades came back for revenge and the situation became extremely tense.

Activists from both organisations opened fire at each other and also used rods and sticks.

Condominium prevailed in the corridors of the city's second largest public healthcare facility and panic spread among the patients and caregivers.

Upon receiving the information, a heavy contingent of police rushed to the spot and took several persons into custody and shifted them to the police station. Police are investigating the incident further.

Attendants of patients said that youth studying on taxpayer money and government grants to become future doctors should realize their responsibility towards the society.
