ASF ex-director land shot dead at home in DHA

According to preliminary information, shooting incident seems to be a result of a personal dispute

A former Airport Security Force (ASF) Director Land was shot dead by a friend at his home in the upscale neighbourhood of Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Phase VIII in the limits of Darakhshan police station on Wednesday.

Police, quoting initial investigations, called the incident result of a personal dispute.

Body of Muhammad Tariq, 55, was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for legal formalities. SSP South Asad Raza, quoting the victim's household staff, told The Express Tribune that Tariq had told his employee that his friend Arsalan was coming to meet him and to open the door for him on his arrival.

When Arsalan reached the bungalow, an employee opened the door. But as Tariq stepped forward to greet him, Arsalan pulled out a pistol and opened fire.

Tariq received one bullet to the head and two in various parts of the body and collapsed. Arsalan escaped the scene unchallenged.

As per SSP Raza, the bullet to the head proved fatal.

According to preliminary information, the shooting incident seems to be a result of a personal dispute.

Police have collected three shells and other evidence from the spot and started an investigation into the incident.
