Police, Rangers conduct operation in Clifton, DHA

Given the recent terrorist incidents in the city, District South Police and Rangers conducted a joint combing operation in different areas of Defense, Qayyumabad and Clifton. Several suspects were detained during the operation. However, they were released after verification.

According to a spokesperson for SSP South, because of the recent terrorist incidents in Karachi, a heavy contingent of Rangers and police conducted a joint combing operation in different areas of Defense, Qayyumabad and Clifton last night.

A large contingent of police, including all SDPOs and SHOs of Clifton Town, took part in the operation. According to a Rangers spokesperson, police and rangers sealed entrances and exits during the operation and detained several suspects, and their identities were verified through biometrics and by old residents in the area, following which they were released.

The two law enforcement agencies not only searched the people sitting at the hotels in the area but also checked their previous records through biometric devices. Officer checked the records of as many as 231 persons during the house-to-house search.

Police instructed the tenants to register their tenancy agreement with the concerned police station within 48 hours.
