One killed, two abducted in Mir Ali

There has been no immediate reaction over the incident from the local health department or administration

At least two people were reportedly abducted on Tuesday in North Waziristan district’s Mir Ali.

The abductees included a doctor who was visiting the town of Mir Ali in connection with the polio campaign. The district administration has so far failed to rescue the kidnapped persons. Local sources said Dr Zeeshan was abducted by unidentified persons from Haiderkhel village.

There has been no immediate reaction over the incident from the local health department or administration.

Similarly, unidentified persons abducted a local named Rezak from Khaisur Road in Mir Ali Bazaar in broad daylight. The reason behind the abductions was not clear so far.

Meanwhile, unidentified gunmen also killed a man in Mir Ali. According to police sources, Ehtesham Khan, a resident of Sheratla Madi Khel, was on his way to work on Tuesday morning when unidentified persons opened fire, killing him on the spot.
