LAHORE:

A suspect who allegedly killed a doctor in his house was arrested on Tuesday. According to police, the doctor was allegedly murdered by a co-worker over financial and professional dispute.

Dr Fiyaz Hussain, a 35-year-old surgeon at Lahore General Hospital (LGH), was found shot dead in his house earlier this week.

SSP Investigations Imran Kishwar shared that the victim, Dr Fiyaz Hussain also worked at a private hospital owned by father of the suspect, Muhammad Mubeen. Dr Fiyaz reportedly owed over Rs150,000 to the suspect’s father. Conversely, Fiyaz had been demanding the arrears, as well an experience letter from hospital management. Both Mubeen and Fiyaz had developed differences over it. The suspect, rather than fulfilling the victim’s demands, barged into his house and shot him dead. Police arrested the suspect and stated that they were investigating the matter further.

A resident of Lahore for the last four years, Dr Fiyaz Hussain hailed from Layyah and worked as a surgeon at LGH’s orthopedics department.

Punjab Chief Minister, Hamza Shehbaz, took notice of the incident and directed the CCPO Lahore to apprehend the suspect at the earliest.
