Three people, including a woman, were killed and two others sustained serious injuries in a collision between a car and a trailer on the Chiniot Road.
The deceased were identified as Sarfraz Ahmed, Mohsin and Sajal Bibi.
The injured, Kajal and Bashiran Bibi, were rushed to the Allied Hospital where their condition was reported to be in danger.
Some reports claimed that unidentified people took out Rs381,000 from the pockets of the three deceased.
Police have registered a case against the driver of the trailer and handed over the bodies of the deceased to their heirs after taking necessary action.
At least 11 people had died and 1010 were injured in 971 road accidents across all 37 districts of Punjab on April 10.
Of the injured, 594 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, whereas 416 victims suffered minor injuries and were treated at the incident site.
The majority of accidents involved motorbikes.

Further analysis showed that 500 drivers, 30 underage drivers, 92 pedestrians, and 429 passengers were among the victims of these accidents. The statistics show that 260 accidents were reported in Lahore with 263 victims, placing the provincial capital on the top of the list. This was followed by Multan with 89 accidents and 76 victims and then Faisalabad with 76 accidents and 80 victims.
The details further reveal that 971 victims were affected by road accidents including 854 males and 167 females, while the age group of the victims shows that 197 were under 18 years of age, 547 were between 18 and 40 years of age and the rest of the 277 victims were reported to be above 40 years of age.
According to the data 835 motorbikes, 72 auto-rickshaws, 114 motorcars, 29 vans, 08 passenger buses, 30 trucks and 102 other types of auto vehicles and slow-moving carts were involved in the accidents.
In February this year, five people were killed and eight others injured when a tractor-trolley collided with a rickshaw near Mohsinwali village on Talamba Link Road.
A two-month-old baby, his mother, step-mother and two other women were killed in the accident.
Rescue 1122 workers rushed the injured to a hospital.
The family of Kashif, a resident of village 3/8R, who lost three relatives in the accident, was returning home in the rickshaw after working in potato fields along with other labourers.
As they approached the village, the tractor-trolley coming from the front hit the rickshaw.
Kashif's two wives, Shamim Bibi and Maryam Bibi, two-month-old son Wasim, Shehzad Bibi and Zahid Bibi were killed on the spot.
