Police issue traffic plan for Youm-e-Ali

LEAs, civil administration, discuss security issues with procession organisers

The traffic police released the plan of the main procession of Youm-e-Ali. On the Ramazan 21, the main procession will leave Nishtar Park and pass through its traditional routes, culminating at the Hussaniyan Iranian Imambargah in Kharadar.

During the procession, the routes on which it will travel will be closed for normal traffic. According to a spokesperson for Karachi Traffic Police, the central majlis will take place at Nishtar Park to mark the martyrdom of Hazrat Ali.

The procession will come out at 1pm after the end of majlis. The mourning procession will pass through its traditional routes and end at Hussaniyan Iranian Imambargah in Kharadar.

The procession will reach Empress Market in Saddar from Nishtar Park while passing through Numaish, MA Jinnah Road and Sea Breeze. The procession, passing through Regal, and Saddar, will once again reach MA Jinnah Road at the Tibet Centre As soon as the procession leaves Nishtar Park, the procession routes will be closed for normal traffic. Traffic police personnel will be available to guide on alternative routes.

Commissioner reviews arrangements A review meeting for Youm-e-Ali arrangement and chaired by Karachi Commissioner Muhammad Iqbal Memon. Syed Shabar Raza, Allama Syed Furqan Haider, Allama Syed Baqir Hussain Zaidi, Shams Al Hassan Shamsi, Syed Hassan Mehdi, and others participated. DIG South Sharjeel Kharal, Sector Commander Rangers Brigadier Bilal, Deputy Commissioner South Irshad Ali Sodhar, SSP Sharqi Syed Abdul Rahim, SP Jamshed Saddam Hussain, Traffic Police, KMC, Fire Brigade, DMCs, and related departments' officers were also present at the meeting. Memon assured scholars of foolproof arrangements for the security of processions and Imambargahs.

He said that police, rangers, and civic administration held several meetings regarding Youm-e-Ali arrangements. "Commissioner East should dismantle the unauthorised rickshaw stand at Numaish Chowrangi as soon as possible," Memon ordered.
