Round the clock watch ordered to prevent forest fires

DC directed the staff of forest department, administrative officers and police to keep a close eye on the forests

MIRANSHAH:

Deputy Commissioner North Waziristan Shahid Ali Khan has directed special measures to control the forest fires during the hot weather in the tribal district.

A meeting was held under the chairmanship of DC which discussed the prevention of forest fires and immediate response in case of a blaze.

Representatives of forest department, C&W highways and building divisions, Rescue 1122, TMA, civil defense and others participated.

The DC directed the staff of forest department, administrative officers and police to keep a close eye on the forests so that no forest fire could take place in the district. The forest department and the Rescue 1122 were directed to take basic measures, train civil defense volunteers and forest staff and take immediate action in case of any incident.

In this regard, section 144 has already imposed, and training of staff has started.

Similarly, on the instruction of DC Shahid Ali, Additional Assistant Commissioner Revenue Khalid Imran visited Miranshah Bazaar. He checked official price list met consumers. He fined several shopkeepers who were involved in over charging. He warned that selling substandard items would not be allowed in the district nor over pricing will be tolerated.
