Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh, known for his versatile acting prowess, is currently gearing up for the release of his upcoming movie, Jayeshbhai Joyeshdaar. Like many of Singh’s movies, this social comedy also sees the 36-year-old actor in a never-before-seen avatar, a young Gujrati speaking hero. Singh believes that acting allows him to live many lives at once and that is what he truly loves about his profession. However, the Padmaavat actor shared that his biggest fear is to be typecast, and so he actively chooses scripts to avoid that.

In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Singh shared that he takes every new role as a challenge. “For me, the best thing about being an actor is that you can live so many lives and experience so much. Each character that I choose to play is remarkably different from one another.”

Talking about how he does his research well enough to be compelling and convincing, the 83 actor shared an anecdote from his debut film. “When people saw Band Baaja Baaraat, they felt for the longest time that I was a boy who was born and brought up in Delhi. This has happened many times during the course of my 11-year-long career, and that to me is the biggest compliment because I like to convince people that I can transform myself into anyone.”

He went on to add how he never wishes to be typecast in the industry and amongst audiences and therefore, he picks his projects with great thought to vow the audience with every film. “I have a personal ambition to never be typecast and it’s a tough one but I choose my scripts quite cleverly. Jayeshbhai Jordaar presented me with a huge opportunity to play a character with no reference point all over again. I think I really manifest these roles into my life,” said Singh.

However, way different from his previous offering Goliyon ki Rasleela- Ram Leela, Singh will play a Gujrati lead once again in Jayeshbhai Jordaar. “I’m playing a Gujarati boy again after Ram Leela, a film that gave me a mounting of a star in this industry. Ram Leela showered me with incredible love from people, especially from Gujaratis across the world! Even now, when I meet any Gujarati, they always happen to mention how they loved my performance in Ram Leela,” he concluded.

The much-awaited Yash Raj Films’ Jayeshbhai Jordaar, also starring Arjun Reddy fame Shalini Pandey, who debuts on Bollywood’s big screen opposite Singh, has been directed by debutant Divyang Thakkar. The film is slated to release on May 13, 2022.
