Unidentified suspects shot dead a man named Mughees Ali who had reportedly contracted a second marriage before settling in Rawalpindi.

Police said that the incident took place in Bangash Colony in the limits ​​Pirwudhai police station.

The 29-year-old victim hailed from Sindh ad moved to Rawalpindi a few days ago after contracting the second marriage, said the area residents.

The incident occurred when the victim left his house in the morning, said the police, adding that the body of the deceased was shifted to District Headquarters Hospital for postmortem.

An FIR has also been registered but it has been put on hold until his relatives reached Rawalpindi.

The police said that the facts will be unearthed from the statements of the victim’s family members. Upon complaints of the victim's family, a case will be registered and the body will be handed over to the heirs. Police have collected necessary evidence from the scene while further investigation is underway.

Child killed in crossfire

Meanwhile, a 10-year-old boy was shot dead by alleged robbers in Pirwadhai area of ​​Rawalpindi police station. One accused was arrested and two managed to escape. According to police, police personnel were at a checkpost near the District Health Office and tried to stop the motorcyclists on suspicion but they started walking on foot and left the motorcycle near a local cemetery.

Meanwhile, the police continued to chase them but they opened fire and the bullet hit a 10-year-old boy Abdul Ahad who suffered serious injuries and died on the spot.

Relatives and the family members of the child protested against his killing. Police said that the suspects had a criminal record and they are conducting raids to arrest them.

Five injured on road

At least five persons were injured in two separate road accidents in Murree.

According to Rescue 1122, two persons were injured on Murree Rawalpindi GT Road after a speeding car overturned near Chattar Karlot College. Rescue 1122 personnel shifted the injured to PIMS Hospital after first aid.

The second accident occurred on Sunday when a motorcycle collided with a Suzuki van at Bansra Gali Bazaar. Three persons were seriously injured in the accident. They were identified as 18-year-old Sanaullah, 22-year-old Hasnain and 22-year-old Daniel, residents of Java Bansra Gali.

The Rescue 1122 team after providing first aid, shifted the injured to the tehsil headquarters hospital Murree. Later, the injured were shifted to the district headquarters hospital in Rawalpindi for further treatment.
