The Sindh High Court (SHC) ordered that tracking of call records to trace a minor girl who disappeared from a bungalow in Defence.
A two-member bench, headed by Justice Muhammad Iqbal Kalhoro, heard a petition on the disappearance of the minor. The petitioner's lawyer argued that Asma, 13, had been missing from the house since 2014.
The court was requested to issue an order for her recovery. Police submitted a report on the girl's disappearance to the court. According to it, Asma resided with the bungalow owner's mother. They suspected that the girl was talking on the phone in the elderly woman's room. A letter had been written to the DPLC and PTA to check the phone records.
Justice Muhammad Iqbal Kalhoro asked if the girl had contacted family members during this time. "Didn't the bungalow owners investigate? Where did the girl go?" he asked.
The SP concerned replied that they were unaware of the minor's whereabouts. He added the queries from other police stations resulted in no further clues. The court ordered authorities to find the 13-year-old through the help of call records.
Meanwhile, the SHC adjourned the hearing of a petition against the anti-corruption notice over illegal constructions on 30 acres of government land in the Jinnah Avenue area of Malir.
The bench, headed by Justice Muhammad Iqbal Kalhoro, heard the petition against the anti-corruption notice issued to Jinnah Avenue builder Javed Iqbal and others. The case could not be investigated by the anti-corruption court since it was pending before the SHC, according to Additional Advocate General Shehryar Mehr.
