Drug trafficker, extortionist arrested in joint operations

Pakistan Rangers, Sindh, and police conducted a joint operation to arrest a high profile suspect and his alleged facilitator for extortion and kidnapping for ransom in the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) area.

The suspect Ayaz Memon Motiwala and his accomplice Salman, allegedly involved in extortion and kidnapping for ransom, were taken into custody in the DHA area of the city. According to a Rangers spokesperson, the arrested accused used to collect extortion by blackmailing various builders in Karachi.

The arrested accused used to intimidate various people by pretending to be a member of the special team of security agencies and extorted huge amounts of money from them. Several FIRs have been registered against the accused in different police stations in Karachi.

The suspect has been handed over to the police for further legal action.

According to a Sindh Rangers representative, people should avoid falling prey to such elements making false claims of being part of a sensitive institution. "Report such people immediately to the nearest Rangers check post, Ranger Helpline 1101 or Rangers Help Guards by calling or sending an SMS to 03479001111. The name of the informant will be kept confidential.

In another joint operation, Pakistan Rangers Sindh and the Anti-Narcotics Force arrested Nadir Baloch from the Khairabad area of Karachi. The accused was allegedly involved in drug trafficking.

A large quantity of drugs worth millions of rupees was reportedly recovered from his possession.

During interrogation, he confessed to being involved in drug trafficking since 2018 and is a major dealer supplying drugs in Karachi.

Officials said the suspect smuggled drugs from Quetta and Gwadar to Karachi in goods vehicles and fruit bags for further supply to different areas of the city such as Khairabad, Orangi Town, Baloch Colony, Baloch Para, Jahangir Road, Ilyas Goth and Golimar.

The arrested accused has been handed over to ANF for further legal action. The public is urged to report such elements immediately to the nearest Rangers Check Post or Rangers Helpline 1101.
