Heat wave likely to ebb from today

Weather is expected to be moderate in the first week of Ramazan

KARACHI:

Third day of heatwave seared the city with temperatures shooting up to 40.5 degrees Celsius with gusts of hot winds blowing from the parched plains of Balochistan in absence of the soothing sea breeze.

According to Karachi Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz, the weather is expected to be moderate in the first week of Ramazan during which the temperature may be recorded between 34 to 35 degrees.

However, temperatures are likely to remain in upper 30s from April 9 onwards. Sarfraz dispelled chances of heatwave-like situation in coming months.

People are wary of the 2015 killer heatwave that came in Ramazan and claimed over 2,500 lives.
