Two MoUs inked to boost tourism

One group will invest in ITZs; the other will establish 5-star hotels

The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority on Sunday signed two memoranda of understanding (MoU) with companies to make investment in the integrated tourism zones (ITZs) in the province.

The MoUs were signed by Umair Khattak, general manager Investment Tourism, Abdul Haseeb, chief executive A H Group, and a representative of Signature Group Investments during the ongoing Property Expo. The AH Group evinced keen interest in investment in the ITZs while Signature Group Investments would establish 5-Star hotels in Ganol and Mankial to facilitate tourists at these tourist attractions.

Speaking on the occasion, Umair Khattak said that provincial government was taking various steps to attract investors to boost tourism in the province. He said that K-P had vast potential for attracting investment in various businesses, economic zones, tourism zones, mines and minerals and other sectors. He termed the ITZs project the best opportunity for the domestic as well as foreign investors to put their money in the sector, saying that K-P government had created a conducive environment to attract more businesspersons and investors to the province.

Umair Khattak said that ITZs was the best project for investment where the investors were exempted from tax for a decade to promote tourism and industrialisation in the province. He said that one-window facility had already been introduced to facilitate the investors and attract more businesspersons and investors to the province. Sporting arms exhibition on cards Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Small Industries Development Board (SIDB) in collaboration with Pakistan Sporting and Hunting Arms Development Company (PSHADC) will organize an exhibition for the promotion of hunting and sporting arms.

The three-day exhibition would be held from June 10 to June 12 at Pak-China Friendship Center Islamabad under the registered brand name "Target Outdoor Shooting Show (TOSS) 2022,” said a press release issued here Sunday.

Small industries

Development Board (SIDB) is an autonomous subservient body of Industries, Commerce and Technical Education Department which is mandated with organizing fairs, pavilions, sales and display of products of cottage and small industry of the province through its Act of 1972. The event will provide an opportunity to local small arms clusters of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including Dara Adam Khel, to display their products for promotion on a national level.

The said exhibition will also enhance exposure of these industrial products and will provide B2B, B2C and D2C channels for exhibitors and participants. The exhibition is likely to attract a large number of footfall from business community, commercial attaches, foreign delegations and the general public and will be a good source of promotion for business community.
