0.3m suffer from cancer every year in Pakistan

Speaking during his visit to the Bait-ul-Sukoon Cancer Hospital, Memon said that Karachi excels in social welfare work

Karachi Commissioner Muhammad Iqbal Memon has been informed that as many as 300,000 individuals are diagnosed with cancer every year in the country.

Speaking during his visit to the Bait-ul-Sukoon Cancer Hospital, which is run by the Citizen Development Welfare Society, Memon said that Karachi excels in social welfare work and services.

Hospital chairperson Zainab A Ebrahim, co- chairman Jamil Yousuf, chief operating officer Syed Jafar Ali and others were also present on the occasion. The commissioner stated he could feel the pain of cancer patients and their families as both his parents had suffered from the disease.

He was of view that Bait-ul-Sukoon Hospital was providing quality treatment facilities to poor and middle class people. Memon continued and the treatment facilities were no less than any of the major hospitals of the city.
