'Dhai Chaal': Shamoon Abbasi plays Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav

Film, loosely based on the life of the convicted Indian spy, also stars Ayesha Omar, Saleem Mairaj and Humyoun Ashraf

The trailer for Ayesha Omar and Shamoon Abbasi-starrer, Dhai Chaal, has finally been revealed. The film is said to be loosely based on the life of a convicted Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav. Abbasi plays Jhadav, who was caught by Pakistani intelligence agencies in Balochistan.

The trailer begins with an officer sharing intel about how India has been accusing Pakistan of attacks in the country - be it 2001 Parliamentary House attacks, 2008 Mumbai attacks, Pulwama, Uri, Pathankot - you name it; Pakistan has been blamed for being the mastermind behind the catastrophe in India.

The trailer continues with the team discussing how India has now started strengthening terrorist camps in Pakistan and has managed to get a hold of one of the terrorists, played by Adnan Shah Tipu. Humayoun Ashraf, who portrays an officer from Pakistan, added how he knows Tipu's character.

We see Saleem Mairaj as he discloses the idea of 'Akhand Bharat' and the camera moves to the first glimpse of Abbasi as an Indian spy who is set to play the 'dhaai chaal'. We are then introduced to Omar, who essays a journalist, Kanwal, in the film.

Seemingly, Kanwal and Abbasi's characters are also shown as being romantically involved. "Yeh Bollywood nahi hai, jahan tum Indians her jang jeet jatay ho [This is not Bollywood where you Indians win every war]," captioned the trailer of the film.

"We have to complete the mission," a voice booms from the background and camera cues to Abbasi putting on a 'tilak', saying 'Jai Hind.'

The actors in the film also took to social media and shared the trailer. Omar wrote, "The first trailer for Dhai Chaal - Based on Kulbhushan Yadav. This is a Humble Tribute to our beloved actor Rasheed Naz."

Directed by Taimoor Sherazi and produced by Dr Irfan Ashraf, the film's cast also includes Humayoun Ashraf, Adnan Shah Tipu, Taqi Ahmed, Saleem Meraj, Areej Chaudhary, Faraz Marri, Jamal Gilani, Pakiza Khan and Anya Hassan.
