SJAS pins Jashane Azadi tournament

Over 20 teams take part in inter-media event. The Express Tribune and Daily Express which were given special awards.

KARACHI: Sports Journalists Association of Sindh (SJAS) ‘B’ team clinched the Jashane Azadi Bowling Tournament that took place that was organised at the Arena yesterday.

The one-day championship that saw the participation of over 20 teams of print and electronic media, including The Express Tribune and Daily Express which were given special awards.

The Sindh Tenpin Bowling Association (STBA) arranged the tournament to promote the game in Pakistan. The STBA Senior Vice-President Aleem Agha, who was also given the Best Bowler award, said that players needed to be affiliated with the association in order for them to compete at international events.

“Rankings are very important,” said Agha. “One needs to be represented by an association and have a ranking. That’s what we’re trying to achieve.”

Sports Journalists Association of Sindh (SJAS), Sindh Tenpin Bowling Association (STBA) and Sindh sports board were provided a good opportunity to sports Journalists of city for spend some time together, keep supporting them.
