Congratulations are in order for Indian actor Farhan Akhtar and singer Shibani Dandekar, who tied the knot in a glamorous yet understated wedding ceremony on Saturday. The couple’s wedding was attended by Bollywood A-listers such as Hrithik Roshan and Farah Khan. The ceremony took place at the Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi’s lavish family farmhouse in Khandala in the state of Maharashtra.
The couple married after four years of dating, with Shibani donning a red corset top and skirt, along with a matching veil. She kept the jewellery to a minimum, letting her outfit do the talking, pairing the look with wavy hair left open over her shoulders. Farhan complimented the bride’s look in a black tuxedo.
Several grainy pictures from the couple’s wedding ceremony went viral soon after the daytime event took place, with high-resolution pictures yet to be released by the couple.
Farhan entered the venue to his song Sooraj Ki Baahon Mein from his film Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, with the couple choosing to dance to John Legend’s romantic number All Of Me. The groom’s father, lyricist Javed Akhtar, recited a poem in honour of the newlyweds, with musical trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy performing live at the event. The wedding was a private affair, attended by only 50 people, as reported by Times of India.
The Indian news outlet also reported that the couple has scheduled their wedding reception for later this month, which is set to be a grand affair with a much longer guest list.
