Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said the government is taking steps to improve consular services at the country's mission abroad in order to facilitate overseas Pakistanis.
Addressing the Pakistani diaspora in Dubai on Thursday, the foreign minister said that Prime Minister Imran Khan vision is to provide all possible facilities to Pakistani citizens abroad.
The country's top diplomat also said that verification of power of attorney for overseas Pakistanis has been digitized and hindrances in obtaining succession certificates have been removed.
Qureshi added that the Roshan Digital Account scheme and Naya Pakistan Certificate scheme have been widely welcomed by overseas Pakistanis.
“The incumbent government is also committed to giving overseas Pakistanis the right to vote which will have a long-lasting impact”, the minister added.

The announcement comes after Prime Minister Imran Khan’s meeting on Roshan Digital Accounts in Islamabad on February 12, where he stated that the government was taking unprecedented steps to facilitate overseas Pakistanis.
The PM said that the government aims to expedite measures such as granting voting rights to overseas Pakistanis, online issuance for certificates of power of attorney and inheritance. These measures are said to have a far-reaching impact on the welfare and facilitation of expatriates.
