RAWAT:

A man was killed over a dispute that erupted when concrete was allegedly used to stop sewerage water within the limits of the Rawat police station.

Police said that a case has been registered against five men. According to the spokesperson, Basharat Ali, son of Syed Hassan, a resident of Lillah Kamalpur Jhatta Hathial, lodged a case with Rawat police the other day. Ali revealed that when his elder brother Imtiaz Ali came out of the house with his sons, fresh concrete was poured into the drains, due to which the water of drainage accumulated on the road. “My brother complained to Mohammad Khan about this,” he added.

On hearing his protest, Ali and his four sons Irfan, Farhan, Zeeshan and Faizan came out, he said. “Arguing, they scuffled with my brother, during which, Irfan punched my brother in the chest,” he added. He knocked him unconscious and he died on his arrival to the hospital, he said.

Meanwhile, traffic jams on Rawat GT Road have become a daily routine, due to which passengers face difficulties. The otherwise journey of a few minutes is completed in hours instead.

Due to the alleged incompetence of the staff of Motorway Police on Rawat GT Road in the federal capital, the traffic on GT Road from T-Chowk to Rawat Bazaar remained jammed for hours.
