A major highlight of Valentine’s day was when Lahore Qalandars’ skipper Shaheen Shah Afridi received a bouquet of red roses and flowers with a “Happy Valentine’s Day” card and a balloon last evening. The ace cricketer displayed the cherished gift on his Instagram. He captioned the story, “Thank you, my love.”
Since Shaheen is engaged to the all-rounder Shahid Afridi’s eldest daughter, Aqsa Afridi, the gifts are presumably from her. Shaheen’s Lahore Qalandars recently played against Shahid’s Quetta Gladiators and successfully defeated the latter. The fast bowler nailed his first over in the match and fans overjoyed with his performance called the over “the real valentine.”
Making references to the latest match, his cricket performance and his love life, netizens brought their A-game after Shaheen posted the story of his valentine gift.

After engagement rumours of Shaheen and Aqsa surfaced on social media earlier last year, a sports journalist took to Twitter to corroborate that the two are indeed set to tie the knot. "With permission from both families, I would like to clarify the engagement rumours between Shaheen Afridi and the daughter of Shahid Afridi," Ihtisham ul Haq tweeted, adding, "The proposal has been accepted; it is thought that a formal engagement will be done within two years, following the completion of her [Aqsa's] education."
