The New York Times bought Wordle this week, and fans are worried that the game may not remain free for long. However, this is how you can ensure that your downloaded version of the game remains free forever, even without an internet connection.
Wordle runs inside a web browser, accessible on any device with an internet connection. Once you've downloaded the browser page, the game will then be a local file on the device and will be able to run even after future changes.
Save Worlde on Apple devices
For Mac computers open Worlde on Safari, and then right-click to save page as a Web Archive by changing the format before saving on the device.
To save the game on your iPhone or iPad, open the site on Safari, tap the Share option, then Options, and select Web Archive. After tapping Done, tap Save To Files, and select the location of the application.
Save Wordle on your Android device
Open the Worlde site using Google Chrome, tap the three dots overflow menu at the top right, select Add to Homscreen and then tap Add.
To play the game from an Html file, you just need to tap the saved files on your laptops and right-click to begin playing from a third-party browser like Google Chrome. On your phones, locate the Html file, tap Share, and select the app you want to use to open the file with.
