SPI for the combined income group rose 18.62%

The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) for the week ended January 27, 2022, registered a decrease of 0.11% for the combined income group, going down from 167.29 points during the week ended January 20, 2022, to 167.11 points in the week under review.

The SPI for the combined income group rose 18.62% compared to the corresponding week of the previous year. The SPI for the lowest income group decreased 0.07% compared to the previous week.

The index for the group stood at 175.23 points against 175.41 points in the previous week, according to provisional figures released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).

During the week under review, average prices of 17 items rose in a selected basket of goods, prices of eight items fell and rates of remaining 26 goods recorded no change.
