World Bank Country Director for Pakistan Najy Benhassine called on Federal Minister of Energy Hammad Azhar on Wednesday and reviewed the progress of energy sector schemes funded by the bank.

Benhassine appreciated the energy sector reforms undertaken by the government.

On the occasion, Energy Minister Hammad Azhar said that Pakistan valued its partnership with the World Bank and other financial institutions.

He appreciated the support extended by the institution for economic development of the country, said a press release.

Azhar lauded the global lender for supporting various development initiatives of the government of Pakistan, especially in the energy sector.

He also underscored the importance of World Bank’s assistance for Pakistan’s energy sector reform programme.
