The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) is working in projects costing Rs1.3 billion to provide water supply to citizens and address complaints of contaminated water in the city.
WASA Engineering Director Sheikh Abdul Salam said on Sunday that 40 per cent work on replacement of old water supply lines and tube wells at a cost of Rs1 billion had been completed so far.
He said 10% of construction work on the scheme for unserved areas of the city at a cost of Rs300 million had been completed. He said government had earmarked Rs210 million for the schemes in the 2021-22 budget.
