ATTOCK:

The Basal police have arrested a suspect accused of stabbing his sister to death over her refusal to transfer her property to his name in Tehsil Jand of District Attock.

Taqi Shah, son of Syed Fateh Shah, had lodged a First Information Report (FIR) in the Basal police station, stating that he along with his mother, wife, children, brothers and sisters live in the same house.

He further said that his deceased sister was a school teacher, while the brother allegedly responsible for her death works in a private mill.

Taqi revealed that on a fateful day, Syed Amjad Ali Shah stabbed his sister in the early hours of the morning, injuring her grievously. She was rushed to the hospital, where she succumbed to her wounds. The suspect Amjad fled the scene.

As per the complainant, Amjad used to pressurise his sister into transferring her land to his name, which she refused. The suspect then allegedly killed his sister by stabbing her brutally. The police registered a murder case against the accused.

District Police Officer (DPO) Rana Shoaib Mehmood tasked Basal Station House Officer (SHO) Hayat Khan Niazi and Pindigheb in-charge Sub-Inspector Ghulam Hassan to arrest the suspect.

Under the supervision of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Pindigheb Muhammad Aslam Dogar, the SHO and the Sub-Inspector along with their professional team apprehended Amjad in a short span of time and pushed him behind bars.

Praising the swift action, DPO Rana Shoaib Mehmood said that police in Attock are working with dedication to eradicating crime and oppression from the society. “No oppressor can escape the grip of law,” he said.
