KARACHI/HYDERABAD:

The united opposition, including the Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA), staged protests outside press clubs in various districts of Sindh on Wednesday against the PPP’s “black local government law”, demanding its revocation.

GDA Information Secretary Sardar Abdul Rahim said there would be a historic protest in Karachi on Saturday, January 15 under the united opposition against this local body law.

Meanwhile, the MQM-P, PTI and GDA held a joint protest outside Hyderabad press club on Wednesday rejecting the Sindh LG (Amendment) Act, 2022. The MQM-P’s local leaders said the PPP is working on an agenda to suppress the Mohajir community by denying their population status. PTI’s Dr Mustansir Billah alleged that only half of the population of Karachi and Hyderabad has been counted.
