Singer Meesha Shafi, who has been the face of the #MeToo movement in Pakistan, recently took to Twitter to ask victims of groping whether they “felt” the harassment they were subjected to or witnessed it with their own eyes. The Aaya Lariye singer, who has been strongly advocating against sexual harassment, wrote on the microblogging website, “This question is for anyone who has ever been groped. Did you feel it happen? Or do you have eyes at the back of your head?"
This question is for anyone who has every been groped…. Did you feel it happen? Or do you have eyes at the back of your head?

Several users came forward with harrowing stories detailing when and how they were sexually harassed, with many incidents taking place in broad daylight in crowded areas.
Trigger warning: Sexual harrassment
Abuser are smart. They prey on you when it’s most convenient for them. Despite our heightened senses, we can’t tell when it’s about to happen. We only realise once it’s done. Sometimes you don’t even know what your abuser looked like. https://t.co/Uju017mOKv

I felt it as a trauma that triggered every time I was groped again … I felt it as a trauma that triggers every time another woman mentions her experiences… I wudnt even find out who exactly did it when in crowds. The feeling remains in our system with or without eyes

In school I was groped (chappa as they call it) I know the guy who did it. I didnt see him do it as I don't have eyes in the back, similarly standing in queue I have felt being touched, I know exactly who did it (the guy behind me), but I didnt see it when he did it.

In Dubai's main slaughterhouse, on Bakra Eid, in the crowd a man came up right behind me and stroked himself against my back. He walked away when he got close to finishing. I never saw his face. I knew I couldn't bring it up ever because I never saw his face. https://t.co/qBUYkxLde8

When I was touched inappropriately from behind, I immediately turned back to identify the person. But I can understand that a person can get into a shock, go numb, and not look back. Responses can be different.
