Parizaad has been one of the biggest TV serials of the past year, with fans praising lead actors Ahmed Ali Akbar and Saboor Aly for their stellar performances. Akbar, who plays the titular character, has amassed quite a following, with some fans going the extra mile to emulate their favourite character.
Inspired by Parizaad’s journey from a simple factory worker to a successful businessman, Ali Mughal, a fan from Lahore, has taken upon himself to dress and talk just like the character. Mughal enjoys making videos as Parizaad and uploading them to social media, where he has garnered attention.
Speaking about his introduction to the character with a local publication, Mughal shared that he was unaware of Parizaad until his friends compared him to the character. He explained further that if given the opportunity, he would love to meet with Parizaad, played by Akbar, in the future.
Hashim Nadeem’s writing tackled the important issue of being queer and the hypocrisy that follows in Parizaad. Currently airing on TV, Shahzad Kashmiri’s directed serial shows how once queer individuals are ostracised by everyone, including their families.
