A girl was shot dead by her brother while he was cleaning his gun on Saturday.
Police took the suspect into custody and registered an FIR against him on the basis of the statement of the victim’s mother. The complainant Yasmeen Saeed, a resident of Chak No. 166GB, told police that that her son Mazhar Iqbal was cleaning his pistol at home when suddenly a bullet was fired accidently and her daughter Sana Saeed was injured.
She told police that the victim was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition where she succumbed to her injuries. The police reached the spot and took the body into custody, which was handed over to the heirs after postmortem.
A case was registered under Sections 302 and 311 of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and the suspect was taken into custody.
On December 19, a nine-year-old boy was killed by an accidental gunshot while playing with his father’s gun in Khurrianwala.
