Balochistan Finance Minister Haji Noor Mohammad Khan Dummar on Monday called on Sui Southern Gas Company Managing Director Mohammad Imran in Karachi. During the meeting, detailed discussions were held regarding reduced gas pressure in different areas including Ziarat and Quetta. Dummar apprised Imran about the difficulties being faced by the residents of Balochistan due to a reduction in gas pressure in severe cold weather.
“To protect the pine forests, Ziarat and Sanjavi were requested to ensure gas supply to remote areas,” he said, adding that all business activities were forced to be suspended. "Pine forests are our national asset. In order to protect them, it is imperative to ensure an uninterrupted supply of gas in winter,” Dummar reiterated. MD Sui Gas assured the Balochistan finance minister that the problem of gas pressure in Ziarat will be solved by taking all possible steps to ensure uninterrupted supply of gas.
In a statement issued after the meeting, Dummar informed reporters that the MD Sui Gas has assured to ensure gas supply to the areas of Ziarat apart from other gas deprived areas. He concluded that all the basic issues of the people of his constituency are the first priority.
