Delaying tactics continued unabated in the Nawab Akbar Bugti murder case as the federal government on Wednesday came up with another demand seeking five documents for the extradition of the nominated accused, particularly principal accused former president Pervez Musharraf.
“The federal government has sought five documents, including copies of the FIR and arrest warrants of the accused, from the provincial government for the extradition of nominated accused in the Bugti murder case,” Deputy Attorney General Pakistan Malik Sikandar Khan Advocate informed the Balochistan High Court.
The bench, comprising Chief Justice Qazi Faez Essa and Justice Muhammad Hashim Kakar, on Wednesday criticised the federal as well as the provincial government for not taking any interest in the case or the investigation.
The attorney general said that the interior ministry has written a letter to the provincial government seeking copies of the documents, adding that without those papers progress could not be made regarding the extradition of the accused now living abroad.
However, the chief justice said that no such condition was mentioned in the affidavit which was earlier submitted by the interior secretary. “The new letter by the interior secretary is totally against the affidavit [that he submitted to the court] and is tantamount to contempt of court,” the bench observed.
It also expressed complete dissatisfaction over the performance of the Investigation Officer of the case. “If the government is not serious, it must inform the court,” the bench said.
The court adjourned the hearing of the petition till September 7 at the request of the deputy attorney general in order to figure out whether the interior secretary relied on his letter to the provincial government for the provision of documents or his affidavit which was submitted to the court.
Talking to the media, lawyer Hadi Shakil said that imposing a condition for extradition shows the government’s intention. “We will soon file separate petitions in the high court regarding the raids at the residences of Nawabzada Jamil Bugti and Mir Humayun Marri, the former caretaker chief minister,” he added.
Jamil Bugti told the media that the government had come into power through a deal, thus, they are reluctant to take action against those who brought them into power.

Totally agree with @Humanoids & @Akhtar sahab. The real criminal is on the run and will not come to face the courts as he has murder charges against him. He ruined the country and its institutions. He should be brought back but that won;t happen since there is no extradiction treaty between Pakistan and UK. He is coward like all the other Generals who ruled Pakistan. May he never find peace for destroying this country !!
@Baloch: The top leadership and Sardars of Balochistan live in the lap of luxury with their armed goons in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and even abroad providing no leadership to the ordinary Baloch. There is one one to deal with their problems. So the poor Baloch continues to suffer.
only in Pakistan will one find criminals roaming free and in power. Pakistan over the past 40 years had one honest leader in Musharraf who lifted the economy and faced the mullah head-on as well as thugs like bughti with their private armies.
8 bodies of Baloch youth were recovered today from Mastung and Lasbela district of Balochistan after Zardari authorizes the forces to have dialogue with Baloch forces. Azaad Balochistan.
Pashtoons were never part of Greater Balochistan, separation of Pashtoon province will not affect the Baloch cause. Kalat was the capital before and will be the capital in Greater Balochistan InshALLAH .
I don't think it will have a big impact on the emotions of Baloch nation anymore because we are already facing severe law and order conditions in the region and this decision was expected as we are being deprived of everything since 64 years #Injustice In this situation Greater Balochistan is inevitable. Don't bring Musharaf, break Pakistan then. Hail Balochistan
Musharraf lives in our hearts. People have seen propsering Pakistan in his era. Inshallah next election will be between Musharraf and Imran. The corrupt elite will be rooted out.
My friends these arent fan boys ...these are ppl who want a prosperous Pakistan .. A decent life..who vote fr the nation ..nt for their bankaccount..go out and ask any common man..taxi driver..fruit seller..labourers..textile owners..they will all say musharraf era was better.. He will be back..
When a Good Leader Kills a Bad Man he is a Wanted Man , when over the years other Politicals Leaders have Murdered their Friends ,Enemies,Wives are not even Mentioned in by Chief Justice ??? Innocent are getting Killed daily in buses, homes ,market places, yet no JUSTICE .
Strange inst it ?? This Country Needs Mr Musharraf BACK He is Educated ,strong willed, all were happy during his Golden years .Pakistan had Respect in other Countries. Today Look at the Name of our Dear Country Pakistan .Our Children are not even getting Visas to study abroad. Schools are getting blown up here .Do we have a FUTURE????
Does Pakistan have a FUTURE ? Think
Asalam-o-Allaikum,
General Musharraf InshAllah you may long live, the only leader of from the time of sepration 1965,1975, Kargil and Very much great will be his experiences in life.
i see some profane people from Islamabad,Pindi,Lahore,Quetta who are fundamentalists and they think that in modern times there will be some leader and Khalifa like Hazrat Abu-bakr,Umer,Usman,Ali ( R.A).
trends and culture may vary but this is true that in Generals regime we have been seeing Pakistan or this region prosper.
he has come from Family with good moral and social values no one is in competency with him.
Regards, Ahmed Ameer.
@Baloch: What to talk of "Greater Balochistan", Baloch Miltancy is going to divide the present Balochistan. Pashtuns and settlers are on verge of declaring their seperate province. There has to be an end to blackmail and terrorism.
Every supporter of Musharraf must realize that they have blood in their hands. Anyone remembers how Musharraf ordered the slaughter of Innocent Women & Children just to please the chinese & the world. What were children asking for? Closure of Chinese Brothels in this holy land. Is it a Sin?
& even if Musharraf was against Islam Rule, he could have stopped supply of food/water to the madrasa & the children would have been forced to comeout. Why Slaughter? Was there an enquiry conducted into this slaughter?
Our Arrogant Army is only capable of killing our own women & children (lalmasjid) & brothers (Sarfaraz shah & talibs). & they will lose every war with India. Now they are locking up HuT Activists who want to establish a "Islamic Caliphate". Am not against the Foot Soldiers but definitely against the Coward Generals who lost half the country.
No matter how controversial Akbar Bugti was,he had a right to explain his actions of defying the state apparatus. He was after all an ex Chief Minister of the province and had been part of the same establishment against which he rebelled.
He was a citizen and a political leader with a sizeable following in his constituency. There was no serious attempt to negotiate his coming down from the cave where he had bunkered down. .
This was a 'political vandetta taken through military means' and those responsible have to answer to the courts.
The current gverment has been found lacking on many fronts and this news is another addition.
Sir Pervez Mushrraf, We need you sir.....Current leaders have converted Pakistan's rivers from water to civilians blood river, we are electricity less, we are waterless, we are foodless, we are lifeless..:(((((......please come back.............dont delay more now....Insha Allah you will be our leader again.......
DUA: Ya Allah save us and bring us back our true leaders, give us success, forgive our sins.....
Let every body know that Pakistani nation has no respect for their court or judges.Bugti was killed in a military action accidentally. If they want explanation call the present army chief in court to find out why and how it happened. President Musharraf the nation is ashamed for what it did to you. long life Musharraf
Musharraf is a living legend... a class apart.. his days will always be remembered by the nation.. perfect govt in the future would be President pervez musharraf and imran khan as prime minister.. but i guess this can only happen in a dream.. where the public is educated and votes responsibly.. 64 years.. still at square 1..
All the political leader and army were against Bugti but no one ever stood up against him for their personal interests. Pervef Musharraf did it for the country. All i want to say that before anyone give their opinion on anything, first they should know the real facts.
Musharraf - the best leader Pakistan ever had.

Sir Musharraf's expression in the pic, is your answer.
I urge you all to read Christina Lamb's interview of A. Bugti. It will give you a true insight of the person he really was.
I read an article on ET that said that you can't extradite Musharraf for the Bhutto assassination/murder - if that is correct then why all the discussion of extraditing him on another murder. You have made no attempt at negotiating an extradition treaty which would imply that your not very serious about getting Musharraf.
What happened to that Red Warrant?
Why the moderator censor my comments but we can see hunderds of Indian comments?
What is the evidence, if any, on which these charges have been brought about. An impartial court acts only on the basis of concrete evidenc.
Politically motivated case. It has nothing to do with the Gen.
Picture says it all about the caliber of this man.
What was the personal interest of Ex-President Pervez Musharraf in this matter ,all he did was for this country . He was bold enough to do the operation OTHERWISE, no other person had or has the guts to do this
Since when has the President and COAS been called by the courts to face charges for the death of a person armed with illegal weapons and died in encounter with the armed forces? Mr Bugti had killed the troops before he died himself. How come his life is more sacred than those of the troops who die for the homeland while Mr Bugti died in persuit of his ego and self interests. Courts should learn to dispence justice and stop playing to the galleries and shun politics.
