Rebuttal: Marri fears death in fake encounter

QUETTA: Former caretaker chief minister of Balochistan Mir Humayun Marri, a son-in-law of the late Nawab Akbar Bugti, has termed the recovery of arms and ammunitions from his residence as a plot to assassinate him.

“I have never been involved in any illegal activities nor carry weapons like Kalashnikov and bombs,” he told newsmen on Tuesday. Security personnel had raided his residence twice on August 13 and 15.

Terming his absence from his residence at the time as fortunate since he feared Frontier Corps (FC) and police may have killed him in a fake encounter, Marri said the raids are a clear massage that the establishment is too powerful to kill or arrest anyone in Balochistan.
