Case registered in robber’s killing case

Another injured suspect will be shifted to police station after health improvement

RAWALPINDI:

Sadiqabad police have registered a case of the killing of a robber on Dr Qadir Khan Road while snatching cash from a citizen on Monday.

The victim, Muhammad Sohail, informed the police that he works at a poultry company. On Monday, he was taking the cash when three armed motorcyclists intercepted him and tried to snatch the cash, he said, adding that upon resistance, one of the suspects fired at him owing to which he got injured.

Sohail said that the other two suspects also started firing due to which one of the robbers died and another got injured while the remaining one fled.

The police shifted the injured suspect, Mamraiz Hussain Shah, to Benazir Bhutto Hospital while the slain Syed Shakil Shah was shifted to district headquarters hospital for post-mortem.

The police said the treatment of the injured suspect is underway at BBH while the policemen are deployed on his security. The suspect will be shifted to the police station after health improvement.

Operations SSP Rai Mazhar Iqbal said that one of the robbers was firing at the citizen but the bullet struck his accomplice. The slain robber had a criminal record.
