Modern scientific tools, instruments used to trace suspects, say police

New Town police arrested two alleged robbers who had looted citizens by wearing the helmet of a motorcycle ride-hailing service.

The police also recovered 20 motorcycles worth around Rs1.4 million from the suspects.

Addressing a presser, Sadiqabad SHO Tahir Rehan and New Town Circle DSP, said some 500 motorcycles were stolen in the circle during the last few months. They said that the suspects used to wear helmets of a motorcycle ride-hailing service during the robbery to hide their faces.

The police officials said that they used modern scientific tools and instruments to trace the suspects.

During the investigation, the robbers have confessed to snatching over 50 motorcycles.

According to the police officials, the suspects used to sell motorcycle parts after disassembling them.

They said that field officers have been instructed to carry out action against those wearing company's helmets and check if they were registered with the service. They added that there would be strict action against the people who are using the helmets without registration with the company.

The police are trying to trace the accomplices of the suspects.
