Eight injured in separate firing incidents

Most victims targeted for resistance during robbery

KARACHI:

Eight people were injured in firing incidents in different parts of the city on Sunday. According to sources, two persons, Ghulam Khan, 60, son of Roshan Khan and Mujahid, 40, son of Mirza were injured in a firing incident at Gulshan-e-Sikandar Island in Keamari area. Injured were shifted to Civil Hospital. Police said, the incident was the result of an altercation.

 Police reached the spot, arrested two suspects including Maqsood and Yusuf and recovered weapons from their possession. Meanwhile, Naeem, 26, son of Mullah Shehzad was injured in firing by unknown persons near Al-Asif Square in Sohrab Goth area.

At the hospital, the injured said the incident was a result of resistance during a robbery. Police were investigating the incident further. Separately, Shah Aziz, 26, son of Hameed Shah was injured when a stray bullet hit him in Mominabad area of Orangi Town. The injured was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

 He was shot in the arm and is said to be out of danger. In another incident, Hidayatullah, 28, son of Latif was injured in a firing incident on Bhains Colony. He was rushed to Jinnah Hospital. According to police, Hidayatullah was injured in an accidental shooting by the owner of a cattle farm.

On the other hand, Rohail, 20, son of Bashir Ahmed and Ehtesham, 24, son of Amanat Ali were injured in firing by unknown persons in Muhammadi Goth area of New Karachi. The injured stated that unidentified persons were looting them at gunpoint and when they resisted, the suspects opened fire on them and fled. Police are investigating.

 In yet another incident, Bilal, 36, son of Akram was injured in firing near Saba Cinema in New Karachi.

 He was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Initially, the incident took place on resistance during the robbery.
