Mominabad police have arrested the suspect who shot and injured a couple for refusing to give their daughter's hand for marriage to him and recovered illegal weapon, used in the crime, from his possession.
On November 20, Lal Badshah and his wife Noor Jahan were injured in a firing incident in Orangi Town.
The police had registered a case on the complaint of Lal Badshah and started investigation into the incident.
A day earlier, the police, acting on a tip-off, arrested suspect Altaf-ur-Rehman, who had shot and injured the couple, and recovered illegal weapons from his possession.

According to SHO Mominabad Jamal Leghari, the arrested suspect had sent the proposal for the injured couple's 16-year-old daughter for his third marriage. However, Lal Badshah and his wife rejected the proposal. Subsequently, the suspect entered their house and shot and injured the couple and made good his escape.
The SHO said that another case of possessing an illegal weapon has been registered against the arrested suspect and the weapon recovered from his possession is being sent for forensic analysis.
