Bollywood superstar Preity Zinta tied the knot with Gene Goodenough in 2016 and has been distant from the silver screen ever since. However, she keeps her fans engaged with updates about her life from time to time. Now, the Veer Zaara actor has shared the news of the couple welcoming parenthood and expanding their family with the addition of two healthy twins; a boy and a girl. Zinta and Goodenough are now a family of four.

"I wanted to share our amazing news with all of you today," wrote the Kal Ho Na Ho actor on Instagram. "Gene and I are overjoyed, and our hearts are filled with so much gratitude and so much love as we welcome our twins Jai Zinta Goodenough and Gia Zinta Goodenough into our family."

The couple is excited about this new phase in their lives. She went on to show her gratitude to everyone involved in the process. “A heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses and to our surrogate for being part of this incredible journey,” Zinta added. She signed off the heartfelt announcement note with, “Loads of love and light – Gene, Preity, Jai & Gia.”

Fans were overjoyed with this news and many Bollywood celebrities including Shilpa Shetty, Nargis Fakhri, and Lulia Vantur congratulated and wished the happy new parents all the best for the beginning of this new chapter in their lives.

Apparently, the lovebirds spent some time in a long-distance relationship too earlier this year. On the occasion of their fifth anniversary, Zinta expressed her love for Goodenough and wrote, "You’re the reason I look down at my phone and smile and then walk into a pole.”

On the subject of surrogacy and twins and heartfelt notes, Bollywood has seen it all before as well. Filmmaker Karan Johar also announced the arrival of his twins, a daughter and a son, through surrogacy in 2017 on the micro-blogging site Twitter and left everyone shocked. Johar’s children, Roohi and Yash Johar turned four years old in February this year.
