A local court has handed over the suspect to police on a three-day physical remand in a case pertaining to alleged abuse of an US-born Pakistani female doctor in Frere area.
The case was heard by the South Judicial Magistrate in Karachi City Court. The police produced arrested accused Yasir Shah.
The court sought a progress report from the police at the next hearing. According to police, the alleged rape took place at the house of the accused, who was subsequently arrested on the complaint of the victim.
The victim said in her statement that on the night between November 14 and 15, her friend Yasir Shah took her to his flat situated on Chaudhry Khaleeq-uz-Zaman Road and subjected her to physical abuse. Later, Yasir dropped her at a lonely place and also gave a life threat.

The victim is undergoing a medical examination at Jinnah Hospital and facts will come to the fore after the medical report, police said.
Meanwhile, a local court sent a suspect to jail on judicial remand in a case pertaining to murder of a 9th grade student by her husband after free-will marriage.
The case was heard before the Judicial Magistrate in Malir Court. The Malir Cantt police produced accused Hassan Ali in the court.
