Balochistan cabinet gets new portfolios

Dummar gets finance ministry, Marri to head education, Shah to handle health

The Balochistan government on Monday assigned different portfolios to new provincial ministers, advisors to the chief minister and parliamentary secretaries. According to a notification issued by the

Services and General Administration Department, Balochistan Awami Party leader Sardar Mohammad Saleh Bhootani will be a senior minister with the portfolio of Local Government and Rural Development.

The notification adds that Zahoor Buledi will this time take charge of the Planning and Development portfolio while Nawabzada Tariq Magsi has been made given the portfolio of Services and General Administration.

Mir Asad Baloch has been made the Agriculture Minister whereas Muhammad Khan Lehri was assigned the irrigation portfolio. The Board of Revenue has been allotted to Sikandar Umrani and the Fisheries Department to Akbar Askani.

Zamrak Achakzai of the Awami National Party has been allotted the Ministry of Food while Noor Mohammad Dummar will be the finance minister of the country’s largest province.

The ministry of higher and secondary education has been allotted to Naseebullah Marri whereas Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran will be the Communications and Works Minister.

In view of the dying down coronavirus and prevailing dengue virus, the health portfolio was deemed to be the most important announcement. The health ministry was allotted to Syed Ehsan Shah whereas Abdul Khaliq Hazara will again resume his charge as the Sports, Youth Affairs and Culture Minister while Mubeen Khilji will be the science and information technology minister.

Among the Advisors to Chief Minister Balochistan, JWP’s Gohram Bugti was allotted the portfolio of Labor and Manpower, Rasheed Baloch will take Public Health Engineering while Sardar Masood Luni will have Transport & Population Welfare Department.

Mir Naimat Zehri has been allotted the Energy department, while Mir Ziaullah Langau once again will take charge of the Home & Tribal Affairs Department.

Parliamentary Secretary Bushra Rind has been given the Social Welfare and Information department while Mahjabeen Sheeran was chosen for Women Development.

Excise & Taxation was allotted to Laila Tareen, Minerals and Mineral development to Mitha Khan, Minority Affairs & Human Rights to Khalil George and Haji Torutmankhail will be Parliamentary Secretary for the Industry and Commerce Department.
