Measles, rubella vaccination drive kicks off today across Balochistan

About 2500 cases of measles had been reported in the province

QUETTA:

A 12-day measles and rubella vaccination drive will start today (Monday) across Balochistan like the rest of the country. Around 5.6 million children in the province will be inoculated.

According to the Director General of Health, Dr Ali Nasir Bugti, around 7,000 teams have been formed in Balochistan to vaccinate 56 lakh children against the two diseases in a 12-day campaign from November 15 to 27.

He said so far this year, 2500 cases of measles had been reported in the province. “We will take part in this campaign. In order to make the campaign a success, parents, scholars, teachers and all members of society are appealed to support the government and the health department,” he said.
