DIJKOT:

A property dealer, along with his accomplices, allegedly shot dead a middle-aged man for not selling a plot to him, while a 45-year-old man was strangled over some quarrel.

Police handed over the bodies of the victims to their heirs after postmortem and registered cases against the accused under the charges of murder.

Mudassar Naeem, son of Bhai Khan, a resident of Ellahiabad Street No. 7, told the police that the accused, Muhammad Hafeez, also a resident of Ellahiabad Street No. 7, had made an offer to his father, Bhai Khan, to buy a plot of his.

Mudassar Naeem further told the police that his father had refused to sell the plot to Hafeez and sold it to someone else instead.

Mudassar Naeem alleged that Hafeez, along with his brother, Muhammad Aqeel, visited the former’s house, called his father Bhai Khan out and opened fire on him, seriously injuring him.

Bhai Khan was shifted to the Civil Hospital where he died. Police have registered a case under Section 302-34 of the IPC and are conducting raids to nab the accused. In the other case, Muhammad Arshad, a resident of Chak No. 591 GB, was allegedly killed by Saleem, Amin and three others.

Police reached the crime scene on the information of Muhammad Nadeem, son of the deceased, Arshad, and shifted the body to the hospital for postmortem.

On the statement of Mohammad Nadeem, a case has been registered against the accused under Section 302-34 and action has been initiated for the arrest of the accused.

According to the police, the accused grabbed Arshad Ali while he had been watering his fields and strangled him.

A few days ago, there was a quarrel with the grandsons of the accused, and the murder apparently seems to be a result of that quarrel.
