Doctor booked over child’s death at clinic

The family of a minor boy protested after he died during treatment by a doctor.

Reportedly, the seven-year-old child was killed after being administered several injections by the doctor.

After the protest of the family members, the police registered a case against the doctor under Section 322 of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and started a search to arrest him.

The complaint was filed by the father of the deceased, Khizar Abbas, a resident of village 112JB.

The complainant told police that on November 8, his seven-year-old son Shahzeb had cough and fever. He said that he took his son to Dr Rashid for treatment.

He told police that the doctor gave his son three injections, due to which his son’s condition got worse and he lost his life.

As soon as the news of the death of the child was received, dozens of family members gathered at the clinic and demanded action by authorities.

Jhumra police reached the spot and took the body into custody. It was handed over to the family after legal formalities.

The police said they had registered a case against the doctor.
