Fisherman hit by stray bullet on boat

Separately, security guard injured over personal dispute

In what can only be described as a bizarre incident, a fisherman was killed aboard his boat after being hit by a stray bullet while out at sea.

Police said that a fishermen's launch reached the shire near the China Port area of Boat Basin Police Station, carrying the body of a man. The cops rushed to the spot and after taking the body into custody, shifted it to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for legal formalities.

SHO Boat Basin Naseer Tanoli said the man killed in the firing was identified as Habib, son of Roshan, 50. The deceased was a fisherman and was killed by a bullet coming from an unknown direction.

He said the incident took place in the sea area which falls within the limits of Docks police station. The Boat Basin police shifted the body to the hospital and informed the Docks police.

On the other hand, SHO Pervez Solangi said the duty officer was sent to the hospital. According to initial information, the deceased was killed by a bullet coming from an unknown direction in the sea. However, Docks police were investigating further.

Meanwhile, a security guard Sikandar Akbar, 40 was injured in a firing incident near Shahbaz Goth on Super Highway area within the limits of Super Highway Industrial Area Police Station.
