Ajay Devgn's 'Singham 3' to be set in Azad Kashmir

After Sooryavanshi, Rohit Shetty is expanding his cop franchise with upcoming film.

Entertainment Desk November 06, 2021

Director Rohit Shetty’s cop entertainer, Sooryavanshi starring Bollywood's four A-list celebrities, had a theatrical release as cinemas reopened. After this tentpole, the director has reportedly moved on to expand the Shetty-curated-cop-universe with the third instalment of Singham, the movie which laid the premise for his cop entertainers.

While we haven't heard directly from the production team, Pinkvilla reported that the actor-director duo is set to make an official announcement in the upcoming weeks. The film will be going on floors sometime in the last quarter of 2022.

Shetty and Devgn joined hands for Singham in 2011 which was soon followed by a sequel. Ever since then, there has been constant converse about the third part of the Singham franchise and now finally fans have unofficial answers. Movies like Simmba and Sooryavanshi has evolved the cop universe of Shetty in Singham 3 will reportedly take it up a notch by exploring extended cameo appearances from these movies as well. However, the scope of their role isn’t decided yet.

According to Pinkvilla reports, a source close to the production team disclosed that after Goa and Mumbai, Singham 3 will be set in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. Singham 3 will reportedly continue from where Sooryavanshi’s battle finishes. Shetty is trying to overlap and make connections with his carefully curated cop universe.

Apparently set against a 'backdrop of terrorism', the protagonist will embark on a journey to Pakistan for a ‘battle royale’ to catch hold of terror organisations’ leaders who aim to ‘destroy India from the world map.' Not too original, we must say. Bollywood takes its obsession with propaganda films up a notch with the Shetty-Devgn cop entertainer.

The cop entertainer duo's latest collaboration will commence as soon as Ajay finishes filming his upcoming releases.
